If you would like to be put on a waiting list for any of the
litters due,
please contact
me and I will let you know when a mating has occurred and/or when the pups are born.
I usually wait until a mating has taken place to get the $100 deposit, which is required to reserve a pup,
and is non-refundable.
anne@gaardog.com
The waiting
list order is determined by the date you asked to be put on it or that you sent
your deposit. The first 2 picks are reserved for AKC full and AKC ltd first pick pups. Each of our
waiting list members often requires a different type of puppy, has different needs and
goals for them. New owners often pick
out 2 or 3 pups, from their pictures and temperament descriptions at 5 and 6
weeks old, but a final decision is not usually made until the results of the
Puppy Aptitude Test are in, at around 7 weeks.

Please call or e-mail for older pups and adults available
on occasion.

and GSD Info
Cindy Moore's quick critical information list:
-
Never hit a young puppy.
-
Praise exuberantly.
-
Be consistent with your dog, rather than harsh.
-
Don't allow biting, but only correct after 14 weeks (yelp
and replace hand with toy before that)
-
Never correct a dog after the fact.
-
Dogs need new experiences with other people, dogs and
places, when very young to get socialized.
-
Praise exuberantly.
-
Dogs need successes and less correction before full maturity
so they can develop confidence.
-
Train your dog in order to establish communication and give
it purpose, and make it tolerable.
-
Dogs need to be in a dominance hierarchy with everyone; if
you are not above your dog, you will be below it.
-
Praise exuberantly.
-
Dominance over a dog is achieved with leadership, never
harshness.
